Schema Monster Responsible AI Policy

Last Modified: September 25, 2025

Schema Monster is a service offered by Monsterverse LLC, a Wyoming Limited Liability Company (“Schema Monster,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

Your trust is important to us. This Responsible AI Policy explains how Schema Monster approaches the development, deployment, and integration of artificial intelligence technologies within our WordPress plugin, including third-party services. By using our plugin, website, or services, you agree to the commitments and disclaimers described herein.

1. Purpose and Scope

Schema Monster integrates artificial intelligence (AI) functionality to automate schema markup generation and related tasks. Our approach to AI is rooted in responsibility, transparency, and user empowerment.

This policy applies to:

  • Our WordPress plugin and related services,
  • AI-driven functionality powered by user-supplied OpenAI accounts,
  • Payment processing through Stripe, and
  • Planned integrations with Google Analytics, Google Search Console, YouTube API, and Google APIs.

2. Core AI Principles

We adopt the following principles in all AI-related development and integrations:

  1. Responsibility – We design our AI systems to minimize negative impacts and maximize positive outcomes. We are not responsible for misuse, misconfiguration, or any unintended results of AI outputs, which remain under user control.
  2. Transparency – We clearly disclose how AI features are powered, which providers are involved, and what data is (and is not) collected.
  3. Understandability – We strive to make AI decisions and outputs interpretable. Users may review, validate, or reject AI-generated schema before deploying it.
  4. Predictability – Our workflows are designed to produce reliable, standards-compliant JSON-LD schema markup. However, we do not guarantee that third-party systems (e.g., search engines) will interpret AI outputs consistently.
  5. Inclusivity – We seek to ensure that AI-driven features serve a diverse range of users and avoid discriminatory outputs.
  6. Privacy – We do not log, store, or transmit your website content or AI interactions outside of your environment. All AI data flows directly between your website and your personal OpenAI account.
  7. Security – We implement security measures to protect plugin operations, enforce WordPress coding standards, and safeguard API credentials from exposure.

3. Use of Third-Party AI Providers

Schema Monster does not provide its own AI model. Instead, users must supply their own API credentials with OpenAI.

  • User Responsibility: You must maintain your own OpenAI account, billing, and compliance. Schema Monster cannot resolve support issues related to OpenAI.
  • No Storage: Schema Monster does not retain your prompts, completions, or outputs. All data is processed locally and stored only in your WordPress environment.
  • Limitations: OpenAI’s models may generate inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate results. You accept full responsibility for reviewing outputs before publishing.

4. Payment Processing and Compliance

Schema Monster uses Stripe for subscription billing.

  • All payment details, including credit card information, are handled exclusively by Stripe.
  • Schema Monster does not store or process payment credentials.
  • Stripe is PCI DSS compliant and adheres to industry-standard security practices.

5. Planned Integrations and APIs

To enhance user functionality, Schema Monster may integrate with the following services in the future. Each integration will comply with provider policies:

  • Google Analytics API (for reporting and performance insights).
  • Google Search Console API (for schema performance analytics).
  • YouTube Data API (to embed structured video metadata).
  • Google APIs (Cloud, NLP, etc.) (to enhance schema accuracy and entity recognition).

All integrations will:

6. Cookies and Tracking

Schema Monster itself does not use cookies to track users. However, integrated third-party tools (e.g., Google Analytics) may utilize cookies in accordance with their respective privacy policies.

Users are responsible for complying with cookie consent laws (e.g., GDPR, ePrivacy Directive, CCPA) when enabling such integrations.

7. Data Privacy and Retention

  • No AI Data Storage: Schema Monster never stores AI requests, website content, or AI responses outside your WordPress environment.
  • Billing Data: Retained by Stripe under their compliance framework.
  • Logs: Minimal logs (e.g., plugin activation, schema validation errors) may be stored locally for troubleshooting but never include AI prompts or outputs.
  • Retention: Users may delete all plugin data via the uninstall process, subject to their own WordPress backups.

8. Fair Information Practices

In accordance with global data protection frameworks:

  • If a data breach occurs within our control (excluding OpenAI, Stripe, or Google services), we will notify affected users within 7 business days.
  • Users may exercise rights under GDPR, CCPA, or other applicable laws, including access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection.

9. Children’s Privacy
